FAQs
Here are the most important questions and answers concerning:
Booking
Children’s or additional beds are often provided free of charge. The decision in this regard lies with the respective landlord/landlady. Our tip: It doesn’t hurt to ask. We are happy to inquire about the conditions for your children at the accommodation you wish for.
That depends on the accommodation. In general we have stated in the description of the property whether pets are allowed or not. Should the landlord/landlady allow pets, there are often other conditions you have to consider. At some of the accommodations there might be a surcharge with regard to final cleaning or they might allow only small dogs, for example.
Yes, a non-binding reservation for 3 to 5 days is in general possible and no problem.
As soon as we have released your booking and it has then been automatically recorded in our system, you will receive an e-mail with the confirmation of booking, which includes a summary of the details of your reservation. Please always check your spam file, too.
Booking by phone is not possible. Please use – also to avoid mutual misunderstandings – solely the online booking on our website.
Right after conclusion of the booking, you will receive a written confirmation of booking by e-mail. All the information about how to get there and the handing over of the keys as well as our exclusive holiday tips for you will be sent to you by e-mail two weeks before the start of your journey at the latest.
The prices stated on the site are valid per night. Depending on the accommodation, the price per night might be graded according to the number of occupants.
Payment for the accommodation is due to us in advance. Payment is divided into a down payment and a payment of balance. The down payment falls due after the booking has been confirmed and you have received the confirmation of booking. The balance falls due 28 days before the start of occupancy.

At the beginning of the new season and the end of the current season our landlords/landladies often grant between 10 to 20 percent discounts. Current offers are found in our section “Accommodations”.
Your booking can be changed at any time after conclusion of the contract. Fees, however, might fall due for the changes. There is no refund of the rental price in case of premature departure or later arrival.
The keys to the accommodation you have booked are handed over to you on site by the landlord/landlady or his/her representative. Your travel documents include contact data for the person you meet with for the handing over of the keys as well as other instructions. Tip: Contact us or the landlord/landlady/caretaker a few days before your arrival to organize the handing over of the keys. If your time of arrival is known in advance, waiting time on site can in general be avoided.
Travel preparation & planning
You have got several ways of getting to your holiday destination in Southern Italy.
Depending on where you are from and on the distance you have to cover to get to your holiday destination, you can travel either by car, by train or by plane.
The regions we have chosen are for the most part near trains stations or airports. On site, public means of transportation and rental cars are also an option.
Some of the accommodations offer transfer service for their guests.
For travels planned and booked long or quite a while before the day of your arrival we recommend taking out travel cancellation, travel health and travelers’ baggage insurance. For bookings made less than 30 days before your day of arrival you can in general not take out travel insurance anymore.
The HanseMerkur insurance company, for example, has got favorable offers, also with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Insurance services can also be booked online. In case of questions, please contact us.
The South of Italy is easily and conveniently reached by car (for round trips or stays as of 2 weeks), by train or by plane. The night train from Munich in particular is a comfortable and environmentally-friendly way of traveling. The nearest train station is always stated in the description of your requested/desired accommodation. We are happy to organize in advance for you to be picked up from the train station or a rental car to be waiting for you at the train station.
Apart from local public transport on the Amalfi Coast, which is very good, local public transport in the southern Italian holiday regions has up to now been only insufficiently developed. At Capo Vaticano you can, however, reach many places by train. Should you plan on many excursions, you might be well-advised to rent a car. You can also rent a car by the day to avoid unnecessary expenses.
Bed linen and towels are in general provided for on site and are in most cases included in the rental price. At some of the accommodations they are not included, but you can add them to your booking if you want to. The respective extra charges are stated in the pricing section of the accommodation.
What you always have to bring along are beach towels.
Meanwhile a visitor’s/tourist tax falls due at almost all the seaside holiday resorts, in any case in the summer months of June to September. In some of the regions, on the Amalfi Coast and on the island of Sicily for example, the tax is charged year-round in many places. In general, however, the tax is limited to the first 5 to 10 nights and amounts to between € 0.50 and € 3.00 per guest per night. Children are for the most part not charged with the tax.
The visitor’s/tourist tax you have to count on is stated in your travel documents. The tax has to be paid on site.
Cancellation
You can cancel your booking at any time before the start of occupancy. Please send your statement of cancellation in writing; an e-mail is enough. You do not have to state the reason for your cancellation.
For a normal cancellation we charge graded cancellation fees. Cancellation
– up to 60 days before start of occupancy: 10 %
– 59 to 30 days before start of occupancy: 30 %
– 29 to 14 days before start of occupancy: 50 %
– 13 to 7 days before start of occupancy: 80 %
– as of 6 days before start of occupancy: 90 %
Detailed information concerning our conditions of cancellation is found in our Terms of contract.
Traveling in times of Corona
At the moment there are no specific regulations or requirements for travels to Italy with regard to Covid-19. General or personal precautions lie within the responsibility of the travelers.
For up-to-date information and possible changes at short notice look up the official site of the relevant authorities (e.g. Foreign Office) of your home country.
For overnight stays at rented houses, apartments and guest rooms you currently need no proof of vaccination, recovery etc.
At the moment there are no restrictions on site.
Regular cancellation of your booking is possible at any time. Insofar as there are no restrictions by the authorities concerning entry and stay on site, the conditions of cancellation as stated in our terms and conditions remain valid.
Free-of-charge cancellation of your booking is possible only when the services you have booked cannot be performed. This is the case when, for example, official entry bans are declared for Italy or the holiday region and when accommodation service (in general or in a specified region) is not allowed. At the time of cancellation one of the above mentioned facts must definitely be given, i.e. there must be a resolution by the Italian authorities which applies without doubt to your travel dates.
Organizing the mode of travel from your home country and back rests with you. It is not part of the services we offer. Booking of your holiday accommodation can, after consultation with the landlord/landlady and under certain conditions, possibly be rescheduled to another date. Please note that in this respect you can only rely on the goodwill of your landlord/landlady in Southern Italy and that the final decision rests with him/her as your contracting party. Should no ‘goodwill’ be granted, the booking has to be cancelled according to the usual terms.
Should you not have cancelled your booking before the date the remaining balance was due, the latter has to be settled, according to our terms and conditions, at the specified date. Should we have to make a demand for payment and should the balance still not be settled, our agency will have to, in accordance with our terms and conditions, cancel your booking and charge you with the relevant fees.
Please contact us in time in case if you are uncertain, have got any questions or doubts.
Should the landlord/landlady be able to perform the services you have booked, i.e. provide availability of the accommodation, you are not entitled to a free-of-charge cancellation.
Should you be tested positive for Covid-19, you will have to keep to and observe the regulations which apply in Italy at that time.
Our tip: a travel insurance which covers this case.
Yes, there is. If you want to take out travel insurance with Covid-19 cover, mind to take it out in time before your journey! Look for an insurer who offers enhanced cover for Covid-19 and make sure that coverage includes the following cases in particular:
– One travel party falls ill with Covid-19. Diseases/illnesses which are considered pandemic are normally not insured. Enhanced coverage for Covid-19 is therefore important.
– You fall ill during your holidays and you and your travel companion(s) are put under quarantine at your holiday destination. Should an extended stay then be necessary, the insurance should cover the additional expenses.
– You are put under quarantine at home by the authorities before (you can start on) your journey.
