Pioppi
Holiday home & holiday apartments
On the coast between Acciaroli and Ascea, in the middle of the Cilento National Park, lies the small, picturesque bathing resort of Pioppi.
Old mansions, a beautiful piazza, cozy cafés and pizzerias invite you to linger.
Beach holidays at Pioppi
at one of Italy's cleanest beaches
Do you want to get to know typical Cilento cuisine? Then Pioppi might just be the right place. The origins of the famous “Dieta Mediterrana”, which fascinated the American dietician Ancel Keys in the 1960s, are found in this area.
Maritime museum “Museo del Mare”
At the “Museo del Mare”, various maritime ecosystems of the Cilento coast are presented in several aquaria. You also find illustrations depicting the area’s traditional methods of fishing, for example alici di menaica fishing. The display façade facing the sea is particularly fascinating. However, the exterior façade of stately 17th century Palazzo Vinciprova, which houses the museum, is impressive as well.
Cleanest beaches
The beaches of Pioppi and Acciaroli have repeatedly been awarded the bandiera blu for high quality water.
You can enjoy the sea in many ways, also by taking a walk along the palm tree lined promenade.

Mention for best quality
The “Guida Blu” is updated and edited in Italy annually.
Mention in this travel guide of holiday resorts concerned for their environment is accorded to those places which combine excellent service for guests with respect for the environment in an active way. Preconditions for being mentioned include not only clean beaches and water quality, but also waste management, air quality, esteem for historic town centers, promotion of regional produce as well as local gastronomy and, finally, responsible area planning/landscape architecture. The guide is sponsored and edited by the Italian environmental organization Legambiente and by the Touring Club Italiano.
Pioppi too has been among the places to be awarded this mention for highest quality. A list of all the places commended is found on the site of Legambiente, where you can also order the “Guida Blu” online.
